About

As a child, I was always drawn to art, but it was not an option. My parents left Afghanistan for Canada as refugees in 1996 with nothing but the clothes on their back. Art was an expensive hobby that they could not afford. While I painted and drew here and there, it was never a major part of my life until I had the means. I restarted painting after being inspired by my late great grandfather, an watercolor artist who painted Afghanistan’s landscape before the war ravaged the country. Fast forward today, painting has become an integral part of my identity.

I mostly paint landscapes with acrylic paint. I prefer to use palette knives as it allows my creativity to shine through. I love using the knives to mix in colours and create textures that you would be unable to get with a brush. I want those looking at my paintings to feel how alive it is. I want them to be transported.

Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy the art.
